Lucid Joins the Nashville Technology Council

Lucid Private Offices joined the Greater Nashville Technology Council. The timing isn’t accidental. Nashville is in the middle of one of the more serious corporate migrations in the country right now, and the tech community here, 70,000-plus professionals across an $8 billion industry, is at the center of it.

Consider the last two years. Oracle is moving its world headquarters from Austin, with a $1.35 billion campus and 8,500 jobs planned by 2031. Starbucks is opening a Southeast regional hub with 2,000 jobs at Peabody Union. Amazon has added thousands of tech and corporate jobs at its Nashville operations hub. That pattern changes who works in Middle Tennessee, and it changes what they need from a workday.

Joining the NTC is how we stay close to that conversation. They connect the operators, hiring pipelines, and people building what’s next in the region and we wanted a seat at that table.

Now, the other thing every knowledge worker in Nashville, and honestly across the nation, is sitting with: what does AI actually do to us? Nobody knows for sure, but three groups are already feeling it differently.

The worker class. Coordinators, admin, middle-office roles built around processing information. A lot of that is getting compressed into a single prompt.

The knowledge class. Analysts, marketers, strategists, operators. Commodity work is disappearing. What’s left is judgment, taste, and the decisions that shape what a customer walks away with.

The builders. AI-native founders, engineers, and product teams shipping on top of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and everything downstream. A two-person team can now do what eight used to do.

Our founder Flip Howard sees it from the office space side:

“AI will hurt offices in general but help coworking as a percentage of offices. If office is the pie and coworking is the slice of the pie, we’re going to be taking a much bigger slice of a maybe slightly smaller pie.”
