Voyage Dallas Highlights Flip Howard for his Entrepreneurial Spirit

Flip Howard, our founder and CEO, was recently featured in Voyage Dallas’s “Hidden Gems” series. Voyage Dallas is a magazine focused on “independent entrepreneurs, freelancers and other risk takers” that “make our cities more exciting to live in.” Flip got to discuss his own story, the story of how we at Lucid got our start, and the role we get to play in the rapidly developing professional sphere in light of advances in AI.  

Flip was first drawn to the office space industry in 2001, when he saw the old executive suite building, that he was renting from about to going under. He saw things he could change and decided to buy the building and try his hand at running it himself. He successfully turned the building around, so he began buying up similar buildings in the area and restructuring them to run more economically.  

Fast forward to 2022, when people began coming back into the office after COVID. Flip and his team saw a need for a happy medium between depressing rows of dark offices behind closed doors and the newer concept of open workspaces that felt more like a playground than an office.  

Flip rebranded to company to Lucid Private Offices and poured himself into creating, as he puts it, our “Bright, intentional spaces designed for people who actually come to work.” While the journey was anything but easy, today we are proud to offer thirty locations across four states. And this is just the beginning. Flip pointed out in his interview that the flexibility that comes with our model will only become more valuable as white-collar industries are increasingly disrupted by AI.
